I’m so excited to share my #1 time management tip with you!!
When your head hits the pillow at night, do you ever get this nagging feeling that you didn’t accomplish what you needed to?
Isn’t it SO frustrating?
I mean, you’ve seriously been busy all day so how is it even possible that you feel like you haven’t gotten enough done?
As a self-proclaimed master of the to-do list I really didn’t think time management or productivity from my to-do lists could get any better.
I was pretty sure I had it all figured out. Running from 1 thing to the next, multitasking like a boss!
But if my process was so great, why did I still have this feeling?
My head would hit the pillow and there was still a feeling that did not accomplishing all that I truly needed to.
Well, I realized my beautiful, long, and categorized to-do lists left me with a false sense of accomplishment most days and my time management throughout the day had a lot of improving that needed to occur!
I crossed things off my list but turns out I was just going to the easy things first since it gave me a false sense of accomplishment!
We are busy moms- we deserve that feeling of instant gratification that comes when you check something off a to do list!
Dishes done. Laundry Folded. Pictures ordered. Boom! Done, accomplished.
Strike it off the to do list!
And then, yet again, at the end the day- out of time and exhausted from being busy, I had that nagging feeling that I didn’t get enough done.
Time Management Tip
I was SOO done feeling this way.
Done allowing the need for instant gratification to be the decision maker in my time management of my day!

Now I realize it is a total waste of energy to feel unaccomplished. Nothing but a lack of confidence and self doubt comes from it.
So instead of just looking at self confidence quotes for moms, I decided to try a new strategy!
There are a million and half tips out there for time management.
But the following night, I sat down and picked 3 items that I would focus on the next day.
Yes, you read that right: ONLY 3!
How to Use This Time Management Tip
Before you go to bed, write the 3 MOST IMPORTANT things you need to do the next day.
Be ruthless with this time management tip!
Pick the 3 things that will move your family, your business or yourself forward. Don’t get caught in trying to please everyone else first.
I have cut out the white noise of my beautiful, long and categorized to-do list. and it feels freeing!
It no longer sits on my fridge waving at me as I go by. No more constant reminder of the things that are left undone.
As a result of using this time management tip, when I lay my head on my pillow at the end of the day I feel accomplished!
And so will you!
What About the Other Things That Need Done?
I keep the non-essential ‘to-be done’ list in my island drawer.
Here it does not taunt me, however it gives my brain peace of mind that I won’t forget things like ordering new Roomba filters next month.
Only pull out this list after the 3 priorities of the day are done!
