Habits of Successful Women
In no particular order, here are 13 daily habits of successful women that you need to start today!
1. She Sets Boundaries
Believe it or not, successful women set boundaries in any and all aspects in their life that is needed.
This could be setting up work life boundaries such as not checking email during family time or limiting contact with toxic people in your life. How do you know if you need to put up a boundary in your life?
Think about if there is anything or anyone currently that you are allowing to influence you in a way you don’t want… maybe you need to put into place some boundaries with your cell phone so you don’t scroll social media instead of getting important things done?
2. She Has A Personal Development Plan
Setting goals are great but if you don’t have a development plan to help get you there then you just wasted time setting goals.
Period.
When I first got started with this, I established a pretty When I first got started with this, I established a simple personal development plan to help me get started moving in the right direction and it has totally paid off!
3. She Knows Where She is Going
Successful women know where they are going.
We might not always know the exact details of how we will get there (that’s where faith comes in, right? 😊) but we know where we are headed.
What do you want out of life?
Where is the ultimate place you are headed?
When is the last time you assessed your progress in getting there?

These are important questions because they are going to help you set your guiding light! After that, you will be able to make decisions about where to put your time, energy, finances etc., assessing if the decision will get you closer or not.
4. She Uses Her Time Wisely
Of all the habits of successful women, I have to say learning to use time intentionally was the biggest game changer for me.
You need to do to an assessment of where you are spending your time, and then you need to determine what is wasteful.
But Erica, watching the bachelor is my ‘me time’…
Sure, I get it! We all need to have some down time in our life and I’m a firm believer in self care! So if you decide that watching the bachelor is the self care you need each week, go for it.
But don’t start listing off 6 shows, a few extra social media check ins and a Netflix binge twice a week if you are trying to live out your best life!
TV and social media will literally suck away your time.
I used to think I didn’t have time for anything- turns out I can survive without The Blacklist and Scandal 😉.
Now, I’m busier than every (literally) and I have more time in my day because I’m learning to prioritize.
5. She Prioritizes Correctly

Hopefully by now you are starting to see that these 13 daily habits of successful women are connected-pretty much like a system that is going to help you live your best life!
Because you have set your guiding light and you know what the most important things in your life are now, it is a heck of a lot easier to prioritize correctly.
For me, I realized through the business of Motherhood I had put things like building my relationship with God after the kids had gone to bed and the floors were swept.
I knew a priority for me was putting God first again. So I prioritized it before other things! This meant connecting with God daily through my prayer journal first thing in the morning.
What are 2-3 important elements in your life that you need to start prioritizing to the top of the list each day?
Is it fitting a workout in, building a relationship with God or finding time to read again?
Whatever you’ve decided is the most important, start putting those things at the beginning part of your day and prioritize them over anything you can.
This means I’m giving you permission to fit in that time with God or your run in before you clean up the dinner dishes!
6. She Wakes Up Early
Not only does a successful women have a habit of being intentional with her time (no more Facebook rabbit trails!) she also maximizes the hour before work and the kids wake up.
This absolutely DOES NOT mean she is sacrificing sleep. No more staying up late to catch up on things when you are exhausted. It’s time to switch out for the morning hour so you are well rested and ready to tackle the day by giving that time slot to the most important things in your life.
7. She Asks For Help… And She’s Proud of It!
It took me having my second child to believe this one. Now, I love knowing that I have a tribe surrounding me and my family to jump in and help whenever I need it!
Working motherhood is not for the faint of heart and the best thing you can do for your own sanity is to shed the guilt and let your mom do your sink full of dishes next time she stops by unannounced!
8. She is Confident In Saying NO
Isn’t saying no so hard sometimes?!
But you need to remember that you have goals! Whether they are your own personal goals you are trying to achieve or a family goal that you are all moving towards, saying no is what will help you get there.
“No” might mean limiting your children’s activities after school so you aren’t constantly rushing from one thing to the next.
It might mean turning down a girls night so you can soak in some rejuvenation time for yourself since the husband will be gone with the kids at the park after work.
Learning to say no is a habit of successful women because they know that their time is precious. They know that if you are so busy saying yes to everyone and everything else first, you will have little time left for you.
9. She Uses the Power of 3 Each Night
What good is an endless to do list?
I used to pride myself in my ability to write a killer to do list!
Turns out it was the complete opposite of what successful women do! Multitasking is no longer something you are going to pride yourself on.
Instead use the ‘Power of 3‘ to help guide your day and watch that endless to do list lighten more than you ever thought possible!
10. She Serves Others
Successful women don’t only have great habits because they want to live out their best life, they also spend their life serving others.
Focusing on others is an important part of life. I’m a firm believer that Jesus just wants us to love people and this can come in many shapes and sizes!
Surprising the care behind you with a free coffee that day, opening the door for a stranger who has their hands full or volunteering to spend time with foster kids all display a desire to serve others.

How can you serve someone in your life tomorrow?
11. She Isn’t Afraid of Failure
In fact, you’ll notice that more than any of the other habits of successful women, not being afraid of failure is the most freeing!
A successful women isn’t successful because she magically got it all right the first time.
She just doesn’t let it stop her!
Failing forward is a life long habit that will not only help you achieve your goals but I will give you self confidence since you will learn to detach yourself from the failure its self and see it as an opportunity to change some things and adjust your approach.
12. She Keeps Learning
I’m not talking about college degrees.
I’m talking about learning more about whatever interests you!
You can be a successful woman as a stay at home mom or a CEO of a fortune 500 company as long as you keep learning.
Have you been wanting to learn a new skills or you want to get better at something you currently do?
Or maybe you are like me and you love to listen to any type of personal development podcast where you can learn new tweaks to your daily routine and improve your mindset!
Make it a habit to keep challenging yourself with new knowledge regularly!
13. She Knows Who She Is
The best thing about knowing who she is means she isn’t focused on others or their opinions.
This translates to inner self love and confidence and a smile on the outside!
It’s YOUR Time To Shine
I don’t think that being a successful women has to mean having lots of money, a fancy house or an expensive pair of heels.
It believe it means being a woman who knows who she is.
Overflowing with self confidence and self love.
One who isn’t bogged down by guilt imposed by others.
Who wakes up motivated and encouraged to tackle her day.
She is living her best life; a life on purpose!
