Your to-do list is endless and the laundry pile is overflowing.
You find yourself crossing something off, just to add another 2 items back on to your list.
Or better yet, do you accomplish something that wasn’t on the to do list and you make sure you add it just so you can cross it off?
Between managing the kids, the home and work you have more than enough opportunities for the world to distract you from living out Christian motherhood the way you want to.
And despite the distractions you can still hear a little voice inside, nudging your heart towards building a relationship with God amidst the everyday chaos.
But how can you start to focus on building a relationship with God when you have such a FULL to do list each day?
Swap out the list.
It is time to swap out that to do list that has you focused on all the wrong things first, and start living out each day guided by God and His word!
The to do list below is designed so that you can thrive in Christian motherhood despite the challenges thrown at you each day!
Christian Motherhood: 7 Things on Your Spiritual To Do list
1. Spend Time With God
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119: 105)
One of the single most important ways you can begin to build your relationship with God, and achieve the Christian motherhood you desire, is to make time for God each day.
I experienced the most spiritual growth by learning how to prayer journal. It was kind of scary at first- I was a little unsure of how to actually do it!
So, if you find yourself in the same boat, let me walk you through how to prayer journal and you will see just how simple and powerful it will be for your own relationship with God.
2. Lean on God for your burdens
Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)
Transition your to-do list from worrying about getting all the things done to giving all the things over to God so he can help you handle them.
Bills to pay, errands to run, lunches to make- God wants to walk alongside of you no matter the size of our burdens!
3. Let God Guide Your Day
That the Lord your God may show us the way in which we should walk and the thing we should do (Jeremiah 42:3)
This verse is a good reminder that God will guide your day, IF you actually allow him to!
Far better is a day guided by God than one you and I will ever come up with on our own. But unfortunately, we often jump right into our day without a moment of pause and reflection to turn our day over to Him.
Tomorrow be intentional about this and allow your mind and heart to open up to the path he lays before you. And while we may not always understand the day God presents us, remember that his plans (and timing) are far better than yours!
4. Guide Your Children
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6)

Each and every day, your Christian motherhood to do list needs to include a “to do” for guiding your children towards God.
A few things to think about:
-How are you role modeling what a relationship with God looks like?
-What activities in your month point toward God?
-How often do you and your children talk about God?

5. Be Intentional With Your Time
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me (Revelation 3:20)
Being intentional with our time is one of the ways we achieve the Christian motherhood we desire.
So often we get consumed by the day to day activities, rushing from one activity to the next and end our day exhausted from moving through the motion of the day.

So where is the time left to hear God’s voice?
Doing things like learning how to fit in time for self-care as a working mom and referring back to this Christian motherhood checklist often will help you create moments in your day where you can take 30 seconds to reflect and regroup.
Through these simple changes you will be able to finally stay focused and intentional about building your relationship with God.
6. Be Joyful
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)
I feel like I should move this up to the top of the Christian motherhood to do list because expressing joy in what God has done for us is so important!
Not only are we guided here in Psalm about the importance of taking the time to rejoice, there is plenty of science that talks about the important benefits of gratitude journaling too.
Begin to incorporate gratitude in your daily prayer, prayer journal or follow these gratitude journal prompts to help you be intentional about rejoicing each and every day that God has provided us!
7. Build Others Up
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
How have you built someone up today? The past week?
From your spouse, co worker or most importantly your children, how are you building others?

Building others up is such an important part of our role on earth. As I’ve grown through the years and became a mother myself, I have become more aware of just how needed this is!
Start paying attention to the way your friends are talking about themselves. You might be surprised at how often you hear negative self talk or realize that you yourself have slipped into this.
Negative self talk is easily something we can unintentionally consumer ourselves with.
I really, truly believe that building others up is a powerful way to overcome low self esteem symptoms that so many women (and moms-hello mom guilt!) don’t even recognize in themselves, such as negative self talk, doubt and overanalyzing!
As you think about the type of Christian motherhood your heart desires, where do you have opportunity to build others up?
