You’ve volunteered for Sunday school, you’ve done a pretty darn good job at being the Mom that balances “it all” and you somehow managed to make something off of Pinterest for your kids birthday party.
But you still feel like something is missing when it comes to feeling confident in yourself.
You can’t quite describe the feeling-
Because you are still looking for things, experiences or people to make you feel confident.
And that’s never coming.
At least it isn’t coming and staying.
The type of confidence you need can’t found on the other end of a new job, a number on the scale or even from your marriage.
Only God can provide you with the type of confidence that is permanent.
So how exactly do you become a more confident Christian?
Let’s start by looking at what confident Christian women don’t do.
5 Things Confident Christian Women Don’t Do:
Put God On The Bottom Of The To Do List
Putting God first is a top priority for a confident Christian.
God sees the challenges you and I face each day as we try and get everything done that we need to. But He wants us to stay focused on Him, on continuing to build our relationship with Him.
How do you currently prioritize your time with God? Have you fallen into the trap of letting your quiet time with God fall to the bottom of your to do list?
Are you ready to start putting God back at the top of your list?
With the help of this Christian Motherhood To Do list you won’t have to worry about when you will connect with God because your days will be set back in order!
Compare
Comparison is a horrible trap.
A giant trap that our world today is almost overcome with; like one big sinkhole waiting for you to fall into so it can steal all of your joy!
God didn’t design you and I to compare ourselves against one another. God designed us to build each other up, to love thy neighbor.
It is amazing how not paying attention to another person’s social media account or perfectly pressed pencil skirt will let you keep your joy.
Be like the other confident Christian woman and skip the comparison game, life is a heck of a lot more fun this way!
Seek Happiness From People or Things
Confident Christian woman don’t seek happiness from their relationship with their spouse, their careers or maxing out their Nordstrom’s card for this season’s newest boots.
They know that happiness comes from having a strong relationship with themselves and with God.
They know that their value as a wife, mom, sister and friend is a nice to have, but not a ‘have to have’.
The only ‘have to have’ when it comes to being happy is knowing you are the daughter of a King! Being rooted in this direction will keep you calm among the storms of life and allow you to see His beauty in all situations.
Try to Control everything
Confident Christian women know that God is in charge and she happily lets him lead the way.
As you set out to be more intentional about building a relationship with God stronger than it ever has been, you might find this to be an area that you need to work on- it certainly was for me! I think for those of us who like to have things in order (aka control freaks 😊) it’s a definite challenge.
However, a confident Christian woman KNOWs that God’s path is really the only path and they truly are able to live the concept of “pray and let it go”… not “pray and worry again tomorrow”.
For a gentle reminder that God really is there if we allow him to be, read over this verse from Isaiah:
“And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, “this is the way, walk in it”, when you turn to the right or turn to the left”- Isaiah 30:21
Think of Themselves First
Confident Christian women know the importance of serving others.
In fact, the more I started to focus on serving others, the more I started to feel confident about my life. I felt a sense of purpose beyond just was at my feet each day which allowed me a whole new perspective on God’s purpose for my life.
Serving others doesn’t have to be a mission trip overseas- there are plenty of little moments every single day that you can do to add value to the life of others!
Don’t let moments of serving others every day pass you by 😊. Buy a coffee for a stranger, send a hand written note, do the extra load of laundry so your spouse doesn’t have to.
