You will no longer wonder who am I in Christ after reading this post!
When you introduce yourself to someone new how do you describe yourself?
It wouldn’t be uncommon to respond with “Hi, i’m erica. I’m married and have two little ones and work for x”.
As I sit here and read that statement I realize it’s no wonder that my identity in Christ was off for so many years- I never saw my relationship as my core identitiy, from which everything else flowed.
All I ever wanted was to be normal. I don’t really even know what the definition of normal is but i wanted it. My identity, and therefore my self-worth, was banking on it.
I knocked normal out of the park and guess what i found? Not much.
I felt the same inside.
A self-proclaimed master of busy, overthinking and a deep desire to achieve remained.
Looking back, I can clearly see that my identity was totally misaligned; aligned to the things of this world, not of the word.
Learning to rewrite my script and knowing who I am in Christ is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
God’s grace during my own transformation of the heart is actually the reason why I created an entirely free mini series designed to help you not only strengthen your relationship with God but also with yourself by realigning your identity in Christ!
Where We Go Wrong With Our Identity in Christ
What does the word identity mean to you?
Do you first think about how you are a child of God? A child worthy of his endless love and grace? Or do you want to jump into what you do for a living and how many kids you have?

Next question, what comes to mind when you learn that what is preventing you from living out that identity is your limited beliefs?
Limited beliefs are preventing you from living out an identity in Christ.
You are no longer the old you (2 Corinthians 5:17), God has given you a new identity in Christ.
However, the sin filled nature of being human makes us forget who we are in Christ. The world takes back over, filling our mind with limited beliefs again.
Instead of staying regrounded in God’s truth for our identity, we begin to search the things of this world to feel complete again.
Our limited beliefs tell us to feel worthy and happy again we must seek a new job, a shopping trip, a cleaner house, loosing 7lbs, a new car like your friend Suzie just got, a new relationship and so on.
Pretty soon, feelings from the enemy creep in.
No longer feeling very worthy, our self-love takes a toll and we jump to envy, anxiety, resitment and bitterness.
Learning to renew your mind is so important to keeping hold of your identity in Christ and staying regrounded on his truth!
Creating my new identity in Christ has freed me from the invisible handcuffs I carried for so long.
My hope that the scriptures on identity provided below have you joining the confident group of us who no longer have to wonder who are we in Christ!

If you have walked with God for years or are just starting to figure out your answer to ‘who I am in Christ’ , the answers to our identity in Christ is scattered throughout scripture!
Simply put, you are blessed, loved, saved, provided for & heard by God.

And my very favorite identity in Christ scripture comes from Paul in the book of Ephesians. Paul is speaking to the church of Ephesus and sharing with them the identity that becomes upon one when they are in Christ (hint: this means you fit this identity too, my friend!)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace which he as freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, for forgiveness of sings, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all the wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard- Ephesians 1:3-14
