Having faith is a big part of your relationship with God. You can find the concept of faith spread throughout many different books in the Bible, which is great if you are looking for bible verses about faith! But I have a feeling that if you have arrived on this post, you aren’t looking for bible verses about faith just for the fun of it, am I right?
Usually, scriptures on faith come into the picture because:
-You are feeling doubtful or discouraged
-A big decision needs to be made and need guidance
-You want to how to have more faith in God
What is Faith?
According to google, faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
The Bible describes it as “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith, we understand that the whole universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” -Hebrews 11:1-3
When I read those definitions, one thing pops out at me: words of assurance.
Whether you look at the definition of faith from a dictionary, or a description of faith through the Bible, it points us in a direction of assurance. Through His assurances to us, we build faith.
How do you demonstrate faith? Personally, I know I am standing on a solid foundation of faith when I allow him to lead me, to guide me, to take the burden of worry from me.
Reading scriptures on faith is a great way to help you grow your faith. Additionally, it will help you feel more assured in those moments of doubt and overwhelm. Don’t forget there are also a lot of great books on faith as well.

My Favorite Verses About Faith
One of my favorite bible verses about faith can be found in the book of Romans.
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”- Romans 10:17
While this verse doesn’t answer the question of what is faith, it does tell us the how!! Growing your faith comes about the same way any other habit does, through repetition. “Hearing, and hearing”= repetition.
My personal experience in deepening my faith came through this exact thing- repetition in God’s word through prayer journaling. If you are looking at ways to strengthen your relationship with God, I encourage you to start prayer journaling today!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”- Proverbs 3:5-6
How often is our faith shaken because we lean too far onto our own understanding? Remember how I mentioned above that a main reason scripture on faith usually come into play is when we are feeling discouraged or doubtful?
If you are feeling that way, even if it is just a little bit, reflect on how much you have let God be involved up to this point? This is a great opportunity to pause and remember to submit to him in all your ways!
Have FAITH that God will be there, as he promises in Proverbs, to make your paths straight.
